Dr. Hunter Attends Continuing Education Course Hosted by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Hunter will be out of the office from 3/2/2016- 3/7/2016 as she is attending a course sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The course, Safe and Effective Sedation of the Pediatric Dental Patient, is a review course designed specifically for pediatric dentists who are seeking to refresh their knowledge of sedation techniques.

Survey of Sedation Practices Used in Pediatric Dentistry

The week long course is being held in Chicago, and will include lectures, interactive case studies, and reviews of topics associated with safe sedation. Lecturers will cover topics ranging from the importance of the pre-sedation assessment, sedation and post-sedation periods, patient monitoring and the future trends of sedation techniques. Students enrolled in the course will be presented with additional materials about preparing children of all personality types, selecting the right drug and a reference list of sedation drugs.
